Car Cost Per Kilometer Calculator
Fuel is only part of the picture. Add insurance, maintenance, depreciation and taxes to find the true cost of every kilometre you drive — essential for mileage reimbursements and budgeting.
How it works
Fuel cost per km = consumption ÷ 100 × price. Fixed costs (insurance, maintenance, depreciation, taxes) are divided by annual km. The total is what you actually spend to move the car one kilometre, and the figure companies use for mileage reimbursements.
Frequently asked questions
What is a typical cost per km?
For a mid-size car driven 15,000 km a year, total cost is commonly 0.30–0.60 per km depending on purchase price and fuel. Depreciation is usually the single biggest line item.
Should I include parking and tolls?
If you want a fully loaded figure, yes. Most mileage-reimbursement schemes include fuel, insurance, maintenance, depreciation and taxes, and treat parking and tolls as separately reimbursed expenses.
