Wheel Fitment Calculator
Tires have an approved rim-width range. Enter the tire width and your rim width to see whether the combination is safe and which rim width is ideal.
How it works
Tire section width converts to inches (÷ 25.4). The approved rim range is roughly the width in inches minus 1.0 and plus 1.5 inches. Mounting a tire on a rim outside its approved range risks bead seating problems, uneven wear and poor handling.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a wider tire on the same rim?
Only within the tire's approved rim range. A tire that is too wide for the rim will not seat properly; too narrow and the bead may not seal.
Is the ideal rim the same as the factory rim?
Usually, but not always. Check your door sticker or tire manufacturer's fitment chart — the "ideal" is where the tire geometry performs best.
