Tire Pressure Conversion

Tire pressures are quoted in PSI, bar or kPa depending on the country and gauge. Enter a value in any unit and get all three at once.

How it works

1 bar = 100 kPa = 14.504 psi. Common car pressures are 2.0–2.5 bar (29–36 psi, 200–250 kPa). Use cold pressures and a gauge in the same unit as your vehicle sticker to avoid confusion.

Frequently asked questions

What unit is used in my country?

Bar is common in continental Europe, PSI in the US/UK, and kPa in many Asian markets. Your door sticker usually lists more than one.

Why do gauges show different numbers for the same tire?

They are just different units. 2.3 bar, 33 psi and 230 kPa all mean the same pressure.
